Not a problem. Just spreadin' the word of the almighty PAGESINCAT. --[[User:TheElderOnes|TheElderOnes]] 03:25, 19 June 2014 (UTC)

Hello! I was scrolling through the recent changes log as I tend to do daily, and I noticed you asked a question about frequency of updating a pagecount for your story, Machine of Magic. In all actuality, there isn't a strict rule (that I know of) as to how often it has to be updated, but there is a system function that will do it for you, the {{PAGESINCAT:<Story Name>}} function.

For example, I myself could take the time to type out the link and pagecount for one of my stories, Megan, but I could also have the wiki do it for me.

Without PAGESINCAT function:

Megan || 24 ||

With PAGESINCAT function:

Megan || 24 ||

The difference isn't visible to anyone who isn't viewing the source (so you'll probably want to hit edit and view the source of this page if you're still confused), and the PAGESINCAT function handily and automatically updates the number for you every time you add a page, provided you continue to categorize your pages with the exact same syntax that you put into the PAGESINCAT function. Hope this is of help to you! --TheElderOnes 14:46, 18 June 2014 (UTC)
