The faceted stone shines red in the light. You place it on your thumb, feeling it, thinking that it was once worn by your father.
He is long departed, but when you feel this ring, you can almost feel a connection to him. Shaking your head at the silliness of such sentimentality, you place the ring lovingly in its resting place once more.
