Instead of ringing the bell-pull, you decide to be slightly more subtle. You steathily follow the path of the cord, keeping your eyes peeled for enemies. The human slaves either don't notice you or simply ignore you.

As you turn into the side room, you barely have time to register a mahogany desk packed with documents, a metal safe and extremely attractive male and female elves naked and chained spread-eagle to the far wall with a goblin in a grey coat shoving sticks up their rear ends before a spear flies from a trap and through your heart.
