"Could you tell me what's going on?" you ask.

"Yes, I'll explain it all." The priest lowers his voice. "You are captain Bertram, of the Order of the Vampire Hunters of Sigmar. Grand Theogonist Volkmar in person has sent you here to deal with a certain problem of ours. A problem named Nikola von Carstein."

"Von Carstein?" you whisper. "Of the von Carstein vampire family from Sylvania?"

"Yes. The Sartosans are about to elect the pirate prince — the one who will rule this city for the year to come. The current Pirate Princess expects to be re-elected, but captain von Carstein also makes a bid for the throne, and he is garnering considerable support. As time passes, more and more people rally behind him for reasons we don't understand. And, of course, we do not want a von Carstein sitting on the pirate throne of Sartosa. Pirates are an unruly bunch, but we believe this man has what it takes to unite them. If he does, the Empire is in danger. We all know how much trouble the von Carsteins have caused us in the past."
