From Create Your Own Story
The name of the story you're working on will never be "name of story"! Use the actual name as your category. --Platypus 17:42, 14 January 2010 (UTC)
Just so you know, titles are never alphabetized by the word 'The'. Look for The Enchanted Band Aid and The enchanted carrot under the letter E. --Platypus 23:40, 20 January 2010 (UTC)
It was not one student who refused to follow directions. It was far too many. But I will be lenient and unblock their IP address. Do not make me regret giving them another chance. If the site is once again flooded with ungrammatical, uncategorized pages, the blocks will go back and stay back. --Platypus 17:49, 8 February 2010 (UTC)
I've had to give fourth warnings to more than one student today. If I have to issue fifth warnings tomorrow, the block goes back in place. Permanently. --Platypus 22:00, 8 February 2010 (UTC)
I understand your frustration. The purpose of the assignment is to show what my students know. Some of them have more skills than others and I can guarantee that no one is intentionally vandalizing your site. When I mark the stories I can go through and make the corrections myself so I can see what they produced on their own. As these stories are still Works in Progress, perhaps you can leave them until they're completed. I know the beauty of a wiki is to be able to share in the works of others, but as I only have them for 40- 80 minutes a day, it's impossible to catch all the errors as they're being made. The assignment is due Friday. Is it possible to give me until Monday to check through their work?
As a point of interest, some of my students have never been in a classroom full time, some are new to Canada and barely speak English and some don't have any access to any computers other than at school. I know they may not be at your level, but I hope you can understand that they're trying really hard. They're very proud of being able to show their work to other teachers, and having it online is mind blowing for some of them. Thank you again.
Perhaps the ones who aren't capable of handling things should be asked to step away from the computers. --Platypus 23:56, 9 February 2010 (UTC)
