Trust Alia

From Create Your Own Story

"Look," you say. "I'm just a Lebanese businesswoman. I was wounded when I got caught in the crossfire of a shootout. The cops questioned me at the hospital. When they asked me my religion I told them I was a Muslim because I thought that was what they wanted to hear. But because I lied about that one thing, they've become convinced that I'm someone dangerous and threw me in here. Well, I'm not going to just sit in here and rot. I'm getting out. But I need help."

"Well, one of us is coming with you," says Leila.

"Finally, something we agree on," Alia mutters.

The two of them begin arguing. You know it's time to make your decision. You swing your fist, punching Leila in the jaw and knocking her out.

"Good choice," whispers Alia. "Now to finish her."

"That's not necessary," you say. "She's out cold, she won't give us any trouble."

"She's an al-Qaeda terrorist and a cold-blooded killer," insists Alia. "If she wakes up while we're not looking she could kill both of us."

You pause. On one hand, if Leila really is with al-Qaeda, she deserves to die, and she would be very dangerous. On the other hand, Alia might not be telling the truth. Is her eagerness to take Leila out motivated by legitimate fear, or by something else?
