The Grand Arena

Quest 1: The Mazrim Cult

...

You can't believe you are caught off guard like this, you were too preoccupied from hiding from the other guards and the powerful woman that you had forgotten completely about the guards in the den you were hiding in. You had dispatch him quickly before he made too much of a sound. The woman was going to leave you alone for now, but if he shouted out and guards started coming she would almost have to act. Which meant being as quick as possible was the only way to solve this. With a flick of the wrist you have a dagger out and as the guard suddenly slams you down to the ground with a strong arm around your waist you simply slice forward with your dagger slashing his throat. The guard gurgled and falls dead next to you. You quickly stab him hard to make sure he is fully dead and stops making noise.

Alignment Shift: Evil

Introducing the alignment system. Every once in a while there are options that are either good or evil. Choosing good options will sway you to the good side and give you more and more good options to choose from. Choosing the evil side on the other hand will give you more and more evil options to choose from. The more you go down one path the more of that type of option will appear. Once you max out one of these two paths you will gain a special ability based on your class and what path you chose. Also, if you elect to stay neutral and keep your evil and good decisions balanced you will eventually gain a neutral ability like the other two.

Note: If you don't like that you have gained an alignment point in evil don't sweat it. There will be plenty of opportunities for you to get back on track and switch alignment back to good. Just keep on going.

Currently Alignment: Evil (1/10)

Unfortunately just the sound of the first guard dying wakes the second one and you have to roll over the dead body and throw your dagger perfectly nailing the waking guard in the face ending him just as quickly. You dare take a peak out of the window when the guard stops shuddering against the back wall and look for the woman. To your intense relief, she seems to have gone forward. Looking around, you instantly start digging around. You hear a guard patrol walk by. It doesn't matter, no one seems to be coming in here. Your biggest thought at the moment is a possible disguise. The biggest problem you have at the moment is that all the guards seem to be male.

After searching through all the rags and piles of random assortments you finally don an outfit that you just very well might get away with. You are now wearing a cultist robe with a deep hood that might hide your face along with several bits of cult wear such as a kris in the robe belt loop and a large rusty medallion around your neck. If you can't as a guard maybe you can pass as a cultist. As to why this robe is here in the first place, you have no idea. The scary part is that is actually seems like it is meant for a woman. You suppose it does probably get a little lonely down here.

But as the next guard patrol passes by you realize it is time to move and quietly slip out of the hovel in your disguise and start to walk down the center of the tunnel downwards as if you belonged there. You pass several more hovels, infact quite a few, and you hear movement in quite a few of them including talking. But most don't seem to come out, the ones that do just give you a glance or no look at all before going for a leak or off to their duty somewhere else. Then comes the first real guard patrol. These two actually give you a good glance over, but your luck holds and you manage to get by the two without them stopping you.

And then, in what seems like hours but only is more like a few minutes you reach a fork in the road. The tunnel continues around forward and to the right into what you can tell is some kind of populated area around the corner. You can hear all kinds of voices. A tunnel however also breaks off to the left a little ways ahead with a strange metal wall infront of it with guards posted at it. As you approach it you can tell that past it leads to a cavern with a few stone buildings built into the wall and about a million guards swarming around it. It is obviously some kind of barrack. You don't look very long though, trying not to draw attention. Your obvious bet is to make it to the populated area with this disguise.

But then your luck runs out. The guards by the gate are not as lax as the tunnel guards and immediately come out to inspect you as you pass. You know the instant they see your face they'll see you are no cultist. You hadn't had enough time to get that part of the disguise perfect. You have to act fast.
