Set out to trap

From Create Your Own Story

For all its comforts St. Louis does not hold your interest for long, you wish to see the

country ahead of you. To know it as intimately as you can and to take from it your fortune.

While some go west in wagon trains you have a different idea in mind. You decide to trap

for furs, back east and in europe animal furs are in high demand and a man can get rich off

it if he's patient and steadfast in the face of danger. Native tribes, wild animals and

mother nature conspire against your endeavors. Even your fellow white men may prove a

threat.Knowing all of this you are still determined to travel this beautiful wilderness.

But you cannot go in your current state. So with the money you have in your pocket you seek

out a store that will sell items for your journey. It is a modest sum of money but with it

you buy a change of clothes, a fine double bladed knife, a used single shot rifle and

ammunition as well as enough food to last you three months. The money left over goes to a

few steel traps to get your venture underway. Now broke but armed you find yourself

contemplating the journey. You hear men talk of how far and long the natives travel on foot

and have faith that you can match the best of them, however a horse or mule would make it

much easier to carry your goods.

Do you: barter for a mule barter for a horse head out on foot
