"Maybe I just forgot where I put my spare. You look around out here while I check the back," you say while walking to the side of the house.
"Good luck. If you can't find a way in then we'll just go to my place anyway," she says, then turns to check the nearby bushes.
You walk down the side of the house and into the backyard. Instead of searching for a key that you may or may not have, you first give the back door a try.
It opens, you must have forgotten to lock it when you left this morning. You can see straight through the kitchen and hallway to the front door where Alexis' silhouette is still moving about looking for a key.
