You grab the car keys from the detective's body and click the key to find the cars location. You race to its location, get in, start and begin to speed towards your friend's location.
You reach the entrance to your friends apartment building and you see the front steps covered in blood with your friend at the center with a kitchen knife and multiple wounds in his gut. You get out of the vehicle and rush to him. You reach to pull you the knife but your friend warns you to not because he may lose more blood. So you just pick him up and place him in the squad car. You grab the first aid kit, pull out the knife, and your friend tries to walk you through how to properly apply the bandages from the kit to his wounds in order to help stop the bleeding.
You make it to the hospital and your friend gets immediate care and the doctor said he should be able to be released tomorrow night. The police come to ask you what happened. You tell them the complete truth of what happened. While they are not pleased they believe your story. You convince the police that you have to help track down the suspect to get revenge on what he did to your friend. Deep down you feel responsible for if another person is killed because the choices you made allowed the guilty and possibly guilty to go free. The police allow it but warn if you take actions that are too out of line there is no escape and you will go to jail for life. They tell you that the knife belonged to a restaurant with a chef that has been convicted of numerous batteries and has a history of mental illness.
