Play hero and try to stop Amy from getting slugged

You sprint over and with a flying leap, get yourself in between Cory's brass-knuckled fist and Amy's face. His blow strikes your shoulder as you sweep Amy to the ground and fall on top of her, preventing Cory from getting to her.
The principal arrives as Cory draws back his fist for another blow. "Weapons are not allowed in this school," he snaps, grabbling Cory's arm. "And beating up on a girl? You'll be lucky if you're only suspended for the rest of the year and not expelled!"
"Thank you," Amy whispers to you.
The principal turns to the two of you. "Are you all right?"
Cory's blow, because you were moving so fast, was more of a glancing blow than a direct shot. Your shoulder hurts but it doesn't feel like any damage was done. "I'm fine," you manage.
"I'm OK," Amy squeaks from beneath you.
The principal grabs Cory by the ear and marches him towards the adminstrstive offices. You and Amy untangle. "That was very brave," Amy murmurs. "Want to go out with me tonight? Dinner, maybe a movie?"
