The best way to appeal to him would be to offer him what he wants, you decide. Thinking that, you mention that perhaps the two of you can escape together. He looks at you for a moment, eyes wide, before he bursts into laughter.

"Aah, hahaha! Escape? With you? I think you might think of yourself a little too highly!" You feel strangely annoyed as your face goes red.

"Ah, you're a kind girl, aren't you? But sorry, if I want to escape, I don't think my partner in crime will be a little girl like you." You puff up a little and deflate back into the mattress.

"Don't take it so personally. I've been here a long time, and I haven't had much of a chance at escape. Besides, you're small and quick - an old-timer like me would just slow you down. But because I appreciate the offer, I'll help you out a little."

He takes the waterskin from before and places it on your mattress, just sunk enough to be hidden from view. It feels heavy and full. "There," he says softly. "That should give you a little boost - assuming you can escape in the first place, of course. The patrols change at 2 o'clock, and are sounded by a bell." He stands quickly and begins to walk away before you have the chance to thank him. You hear him chuckling to himself, "Ha! Escape this place? With her?"

...What a vile man. Thinking this, you close your eyes and imagine a million ways to proceed... and a million ways things could go wrong.
