Kick off your heels and sneak into the bay

You quietly pull your heels off, suppressing a yelp as your bare soles hit the cold concrete floor. You pick your heels up, then pad into the bay, keeping to the shadows as much as you can.
As you slip through the shadows, you spot the owner of the voice. He's a short, slender man, who was hidden behind one of the bus lifts until you sneaked into the bay. He's clearly busy trying to fix something, though you couldn't hope to fathom what.
You also spot a set of coveralls draped over a nearby workbench. You might be able to snag them without the mechanic noticing, or you could wait and hope the mechanic leaves soon.
