Dez walked out to meet Ellissan. "Yes, Lord Ferr?" Dez asked with a respectful nod of his head.

"Was that Lord Chorel with whom you were just speaking?" Dez nodded. "Attempting to seduce the boy?" Ellissan asked, raising an eyebrow. "You know that's against the rules."

Dez quickly shook his head. "No, Lord Ferr, I wasn't, I--I was--"

"Relax, Dez," Ellissan said with a chuckle, "I have no intention of calling you out before the Council. But do be careful," he added, sobering. "There are those who would."

Dez nodded. "Thank you for the warning. Now, if you'll excuse me--"

"Hold on there, young Dez," Ellissan said, catching him by the sleeve as he turned to go. "There is something you should know about Lord Chorel. I visited a whorehouse not long ago, one that young Lord Chorel frequents, apparently. Only, the whores revealed an interesting fact: Lord Chorel only talks to them, he never partakes of their wares, if you get my meaning."

Dez frowned and nodded slowly. "That is interesting," he said, not sure what it meant. "Thank you, Lord Ferr." He bowed again and then hurried off to find Zeth.
