"I know Lebanon," you say. "I know the land, and I have connections with the people. I think that's the best way."
"All right," says Alia. "If you think it's the best option, I'll go with you."
You look at her, a little surprised. "Don't you want to get home to Jordan?"
"Of course. But two of us traveling together will be a lot safer than each of us traveling alone. From Lebanon it'll be easy enough to get a flight back to Jordan."
You nod. A friend would be very valuable...if she's really a friend. You're going to have to trust her now. You started down that path when you chose which woman to side with. You hope you made the right decision.
"Well, what are we waiting for?" says Alia. "Let's get moving before the cops at the station discover we're gone."
