You carefully creep towards the light and stop just before you reach the angle in the wall, which is as close as you can get. The voices, though low, can now be heard clearly in the silence of the warehouse.
"I maintain that we need only six people," someone says. "Let's not endanger more men than we need to."
"You may be right," concedes another. "But I sure don't want to be one of those six."
"This is the most important part of the plan," replies the first. "If it's carried out correctly, we'll be well rewarded."
"And if it's not?" asks a third.
"Then we probably won't live to face von Carstein's anger."
"Ah. That, at least, is reassuring." The voice does not even have the slightest trace of sarcasm.
