"You're right, I'll go with you," you tell Kurt. "I'm sure the Watch can handle this. Sorry captain Valerio, but I'm afraid I'd be of little use in an operation of that kind."
"Leave the city if you want to," says Valerio with a shrug, "it's indeed more prudent. But just don't try to convince others to flee Sartosa. The last thing we need is panic in the streets."
"Let's be quick, Bertram," the priest says. "We'll take the road."
You follow Kurt out of Valerio's house and leave Sartosa by the main gate, using the same road by which you entered no more than a day ago. After half an hour's walk, you stop to rest on top of a hill. Then, suddenly, the silence of the night is broken by a sound of thunder. The ground trembles slightly under your feet.
"By Sigmar," whispers Kurt.
You turn to look at Sartosa. The city is still more or less intact, but enormous green flames are ravaging several buildings while a baleful black cloud is rising towards the sky. As Kurt predicted, something went wrong.
