A noise startles you. You think you hear someone getting close, while the situation might not look incriminating per se, neither you nor the blonde will go through with what you are doing with bystanders around. You stand up and tread once, twice, as if you were testing your ankle's stability. Not a moment too soon; two elderly ladies come around the corner, chatting vividly.
"I think I will manage to walk," you say. "Thank you for your help."
The blonde nods, torn between disappointment and relief. She asks again if you will be all right, and when you assure her you will, she smiles and waves you good bye. You look after her until she is out of sight. It didn't go as planned, but it was definitely exciting.
Your cell rings. Kirsten is summoning you by Julianne's orders. It's time to board the plane.
