Believe - Go find Ralphon
From Create Your Own Story
You hurry out of the room at speed you didn't even know you had. Speeding up the stairs and back to the surface of Bridgehaven, you run right into Ralphon, himself.
"Hero? Is something the matter?" He asks with a smile, picking up his spellbooks.
You tell him about Dunfy. Suddenly, Ralphon's friendly smile becomes an angered frown.
"I see. In that case, Dunfy is excused from this class and I must teach him a special lesson."
As if on cue, Dunfy runs up the cement staircase and slashes at you with rage. You prepare to draw your weapon to stop him, but Ralphon pushes you aside. With a mere gesture of the hand, Dunfy's sword is lifted from his hands, burnt to black ash, and scattered across Bridgehaven. At first, you think Dunfy will run away screaming now, which he seems like he is about to do. However, he is unable to move because of Ralphon's magical grasp on him. The magic teacher lifts Dunfy high into the sky and gently sets him on The Cloud Tower, the highest building in Bridgehaven. You can hear Dunfy's screams of fright from here.
"He will be brought down at noon." Ralphon says, walking down to his class. You follow.
When you and Ralphon get down to class, you notice your other classmates have arrived, finally.
Ro' Kai is a small boy from the TigerBlood Clan. He wears the clothes that are required at Bridgehaven, but the war paint of claw scratches on his face are irremovable. He's very agile and can speak roughly 6 languages around Altaria. More or less, he's a good kid.
Untraphous is a quiet kid who seems to stay secluded from other students, or anyone for that matter. He's very skilled with black magic, but Ralphon thinks that he is not good enough at white magic and other categories of spellcasting.
The last student is Surinae. She's Ralphon's granddaughter, allowing her to have special treatment. She's not very good at magic, and she's pretty annoying at most times. But at least she doesn't target you for ridicule. Just everyone else.
You sit down at your old, mahogany desk, in between Ro' Kai and Kiara and behind Untraphous. Ralphon sets his multi-colored spellbooks on a small stack of old textbooks.
The old wizard announces to the class, "Attention, class. Dunfy is absent today so he will not be able to participate in our field trip."
Ro' Kai, Kiara, and Surinae all cheer for this great news about the field trip. Untraphous just stays silent. The class packed up a few necessary supplies and were led by Ralphon up to the surface and down the dirt road.
"Where are we going?" Surinae asks, her voice a mixture of curiosity and excitement.
"We are headed off to a very special place that resides right below Bridgehaven itself, further down than my school even."
Untraphous' eyes light up and he grins, "You mean we're going to Darak Solartchi?"
"Very good, Untraphous. Yes, we are. That is where the Ancestors of Altaria reside. The wisest men and women alive. When we get there, though, please don't be rude. But ask as many questions as you would like," Ralphon warned, "They can answer just about any question you ask, besides ones about themselves. Those questions can be asked to me right now. You will each get to ask one question. Untraphous, you first."
Untraphous thought for a moment, peering down from under his hood at the ground in thought. Finally, after a few short seconds, he looked up at Ralphon.
"Who is the oldest living Ancestor?"
Ralphon chuckled, "Oh, that would be their second-in-command, Soshay. He usually stays secluded from the rest of the Ancestors and he will only speak with you if you are worthy. But all of the Ancestors are very old, indeed. Okay Surinae, my sweet. You're up."
Surinae asked her question quickly, "Are you an Ancestor?"
Ralphon slowed his pace while he led them and answered, trying to ignore the offensive part of that question, "Of course not. I'm much too young. Ro' Kai, ask your question. And let's not have it be about age, alright."
Ro' Kai thought for a moment, then spoke up, "Can anything harm the Ancestors?"
"Good question!" Ralphon said with enthusiasm, "There are only 3 things in this world that can harm them, which happen to be the same 3 that can harm anyone. The first is sin. The second is love. And the third is..." His voice drifts off.
"Kiara, your question." He said, calmly.
"Oh, okay," Kiara said, surprised to be put on the spot like this, "What are the Ancestors' abilities?"
Ralphon smiled and turned around to your class, "They can do anything they imagine! The things they can do would blow your minds!" He yelled, happily.
After a few seconds, Ralphon turned back around and kept leading them. It took Ralphon about 5 minutes to realize you hadn't gotten to ask a question.
"Oh, Hero! I'm so sorry! What's your question?"
What's your question?
