Avoid contact and go further into the desert

The soldiers remaining at the checkpoint will surely be on high alert. If they weren't, you'd consider going up against them, but you decide it's not a good idea now. You begin driving the Jeep deeper into the desert.
You look at the gas gauge. The tank was already low when the soldiers had begun driving it after you. Irresponsible men, letting the tank run down like that. But you're the one who has to suffer the consequences of it now. You keep driving for as long as you can, hoping to find something. Unfortunately there's nothing but empty desert and the sound of the wind whistling. Soon the vehicle is out of gas.
