With this geas in effect, your female descendants were effectively safe until they reached an age where they were able to be taught how to protect themselves. This proved very frustrating. You were able to take some action against the males and also the non-virgin women, but so long as the protectors were cautious, you were unable to do anything. Fortunately for you though, in the past hundred years there was something of a zeitgeist against the upholding of the old ways of magic. It is interesting how your curse has made you view certain subjects the opposite way from how you would under normal circumstances. In this case, you would have normally been infuriated with this abandoning of the ways of magic, but this actually works out rather well for you. All you had to do was be patient.
For four decades after you made this resolve, you refrained from taking any action against your descendants, and your restraint was rewarded. The trend towards the abandonment of superstition had grown to also result in the abandonment of the precautions that were being taken to protect your progeny. It had been a little unnerving watching how their numbers increased and having to keep up with all of them, but the time necessary to do so was something you had in abundance. Even if the clergy lost track of their lineage, you did not. The most frustrating thing after this then was starting back into it slowly so as not to alarm anyone.
Your powers as a spirit had grown stronger in this time as well, and your anger had gone from hot to cold allowing you to become more patient and methodical. This time around, you were able to keep the deaths infrequent and separated enough that it did not raise suspicion. You also found different methods of killing, and in some cases you even found ways to make them sterile instead of taking their lives. So long as they were not making themselves a nuisance by making more descendants for you to deal with, that was good enough. They could just go ahead and die of old age. Or, in the case that the old infertile ones were all that was left, you could just make it look like they died of natural causes. It was quite an annoying thing recently that the elderly these days lived a lot longer than they used to.
