Even though you know it's hopeless, you plant your hands on the door, take a deep breath and push with all your might.
It was probaly just your imagination, but you thought you just felt the door push foward a little. You pause to catch your breath and continue pushing but nothing else happens.
You step back and rub your aching bisceps. This is pointless.
