Revision as of 22:04, 23 December 2008
2000 Wrestling (now just 2KW) is an independent non-endorsed, non-profit park action wrestling federation that was initiated in 1999 and is based in Manhattan, New York accumulating over 300 roster members in calculation over its decade run.
2KW is recognized in a cult online community for its consistent intensity and physical wrestling quality coupled with stupendous veteran and rookie workers, varying from high flyers, technicians, and pound-for-pounders that altogether offers grounds for a slam-bang, shoot-style wrestling atmosphere. This organization is appreciated for not following the stereotypical trend of the unencouraged, pro-wrestling-imitation sport by seeking some training and not producing an all-out hardcore smash-fest.
Although 2KW Wrestling is not presented in a "backyard", it is linked closely and ambigiously to backyard wrestling for the popularity backyard wrestling has already gained. In further noting, all federations occuring in any place is still labelled backyard wrestling due to same reason. 2KW has currently ended its season with an expected return due around March 2009.

History
2KW initiated in the early period of 1999 as a no-name federation, devised by such as Vinny Mac, SyNN and Kid Crazy who were in their youth. In the iteration which was rather taken frivolously, the federation opted to air their 2KW show on the Manhattan Neighborhood Network (a non-profit organization that broadcasts programming on four public access stations in Manhattan) which was regionally seen and successfully attracted viewers with a heap of positive reviews recieved via email. With such regional regard, 2KW was converted to take a more serious tone and acquired the talents of Jackal, Reaper, Grifter and Saylo to build on a bigger roster. Throughout the years that have elapsed, the federation has seen 300 different competitors with a solid 30 still under the 2KW banner.
