Current revision as of 01:30, 5 August 2012

The 2KW United World Championship is a backyard wrestling primary championship in 2KW. It is the highest ranked title in all of the federation and has been around since the initiation period. As it is called a "world" title, it only applies within the world in which is 2KW and is not an actual international championship.

In 2001, the championship was devised as the GWA Hardcore World Championship against the GWA World Championship for those which storyline felt their talent was further than the GWA World Championship while 2KW (then 2000 Wrestling) and Ghetto Wrestling Alliance were linked federations. When SyNN attained it the same year, it was renamed to the 2KW World Championship. In 2009, the NEW Heavyweight Championship from a defunct federation was unified into the 2KW Championship to create the 2KW United World Championship.

The first champion of the federation was Saylo, who won the championship in 2001, and ever since, there have been 17 2KW World Champions, some with multiple title reigns. Great Styles has established becoming the longest reigning champion holding the belt for nine months as the shortest champion is synonymous with Saylo, who won the championship and was promptly stripped.
