Fields/Subtype

The subtype field specifies what sort of data will be handled by the box type you have selected. Current subtypes are listed below:

Feed Subtypes

• Custom URL - If you select this subtype you will be asked to enter the URL of the RSS/ATOM/hAtom feed you wish displayed in the box.
• Blogger - If you select this subtype you will be asked for a Blogger address (SOMETHING.blogspot.com) and the items from that site will be put in the box
• Xanga - If you select this subtype you will be asked for a Xanga username (xanga.com/SOMETHING) and the items from that site will be put in the box
• Blog.com - If you select this subtype you will be asked for a Blog.com address (SOMETHING.blog.com) and the items from that site will be put in the box
• LiveJournal - If you select this subtype you will be asked for a LiveJournal username and the items from that site will be put in the box
• Blogware - If you select this subtype you will be asked for a Blogware username and the items from that site will be put in the box

There are also some predefined feeds listed below a dashed line in the subtype box for the feed type. Selecting one of these will put the items from the specified site in the box.

Search Subtypes

All the subtypes of the search type, except one, are the names of search engines. Selecting a search engine will add a search box to your page that allows you to search the selected search engine. If you select 'multi:' from the list, you will be presented with a box containing a link that will allow you to add more than one search engine to the box.

XHTML Subtypes

• Direct Input - If you select this subtype you will be asked to input the XHTML content that should be displayed in the box
• NoteBox - Creates a box in which you can keep notes to yourself
