The Promise's Backyard Wrestling Association (TPBYWA) was a backyard wrestling community founded by Sean Steel on July 15, 2011 and defunct on December 18, 2011. The community was a rival to the National Backyard Wrestling Alliance.

On May 21, 2011, Sean Steel, James Blackwell, and "Big Daddy" Paul Steel of Higher Passion Wrestling delivered a promo on Skull Jr., and also challenged the NBYWA World Heavyweight Champion to come over to one of their shows to defend the title. Skull responded quickly, and instead invited them to his upcoming supershows, NBYWA 4 and NBYWA 5. Sean Steel shot down the invite and claimed himself to be NBYWA World Heavyweight Champion, due to the title holder, RPK, not accepting the challenge. Skull later asserted that Steel wasn't the champion, and had no authority in NBYWA to claim himself champion, so the title is known as the TPBYWA World Heavyweight Championship. On July 2 at HPW's "Dirty Black Summer" event, Steel told Skull that he could because he was a man, and that he was Sean Steel. In the promo, Steel acted out bizarrely and was suspended by HPW for thirty days because of it. On July 15, Steel founded the TPBYWA so he could speak his mind without any repercussion. Words between the two sides continued until Skull confirmed his and RPK's appearance for the HPW shows "Homecoming" on September 3 and "Hell-O-Ween" on October 1. Meanwhile, Blackwell was also arguing with Steel and revived his Underground Wrestling Entertainment brand to separate himself from the Steel's promotion. This lead to the booking of a triple threat Street Fight between Steel, Blackwell, and Skull at "Homecoming", where the TPBYWA and NBYWA World Titles were to be unified. On September 3, Steel won the NBYWA World Title, after which Skull was beat down by the Masters of the Backyard. On October 1, Skull got his rematch. In what was scheduled to be a match only with the NBYWA World Title on the line, Steel accepted a challenge by Skull to put his TPBYWA World Title on the line as well. Skull defeated Steel and promised him the next week, he'd figure out what to do with the belts. On December 18, after over two months, Skull decided to get rid of the TPBYWA World Title, calling it the "final nail in the coffin" of the TPBYWA, signaling the community's end.
