The GBYWN World Heavyweight Championship is a backyard wrestling world championship assigned as one of various other championships of backyard wrestling community, GBYWN. It is the highest ranked title representing the community and is currently being competed for within the Great Lakes Territory. The title was created second to the GBYWN Championship which was altered to the GBYWN West Coast Championship, that was rendered no longer a top title.

History
Origination
The title was introduced during the GBYWN Promo Challenge in 2008, where Bridgeview Wrestling Association's Matt Knicks proclaimed himself the first champion, as the title was created by him and assigned to the Great Lakes Territory to be defended in that geographical area BWA is located.
Factually, in 2007, Cassius Chaos was the first to pitch the concept of community championships designed to represent GBYWN, which was the original GBYWN Championship turned in the the GBYWN West Coast Championship in 2009 while a title confusion existed with the GBYWN World and the GBYWN Title. The GBYWN World Heavyweight Title, however, remained the top tier community title.
