01	Beginning of a Story//BEGINNING	TV-14V	The year is 2099. Japan has changed as the result of the end of World War III in 2029. It is now 70 years past teh rebuilding of Honshu, where most of the land is urban, leaving very little forestation left. Takashi Fujishima is a 19-year old living in this future, whose ordinary life is changed when his arm is shot off by stray bullets from a nearby gunfight. Takashi, on the verge of death, is saved by a young woman about his age named Motoko Kotegawa. Motoko saves Takashi's life by attaching a robotic arm to where his arm was shot off, and in return asks him to take out a group of men from a crime syndicate called SORE.
02	My World Breaks Apart//FALL APART	TV-14	The day after the loss of his arm, Takashi happens to run into Motoko on the campus of his university, resulting in a gunfight which is interrupted by a SORE jet attack, forcing the two to postpone their fight. Later that night, they decide to finish their gunfight, but it ends in a way no one would expect.
03	Bond Between A Boy and a Girl//A BOND ONE SHARES	TV-14	Hours after the previous episode's events, Tomoki, Takashi's best friend and roommate, is attacked by a SORE agent, or SOREA, but is saved by a mysterious girl at the last minute. The next day, he's shocked to find out that the girl who saved him the previous night was actually Motoko! Later, Motoko introduces Takashi to Junichiro Haikai, a scientist who has been working on a mecha that he wants Takashi to pilot.
04	Force That Holds Together Courage//DON'T GIVE UP	TV-14	Takashi is told to pilot a mecha created by Junichiro in order to combat against a SORE jet. After taking it down, something weird happens to the mecha, dubbed the AAUnit, and Takashi disappears inside it, leading to Motoko having to get Tomoki and Domyoji's help so she and Junichiro can rescue Takashi from the inside of the AAUnit. Meanwhile, after Takashi's disappearance, the AAUnit goes into an autopilot mode, making it more destructive than before...
05	Twilight Rainbow//FAMILIAR COLOR	TV-14V	Motoko, Junichiro, Tomoki, and Domyoji encounter the rampaging AAUnit, who has just killed some SOREAs in a gruesome manner. With the AAUnit gone mad, and the latter three of the group of four powerless, it's up to Motoko to rescue Takashi from the Infosphere, the central AI system of the AAUnit.
