Situation
Saxton Map: Lyndley
Linley stands on the River West Onny, sas it emerges from a valley between the steeply wooded hills of Heath Mynd, and Linley Hill and flows south towards More, 1km away. Just over 1km to the east stands Norbury, 2km SW Lydham.
History
There are traces of Roman occupation in this area.
Church
St Leonards church stands alone, in the trees with only the hall nearby. The nave and the chancel are remains of the original church, consecrated in 1139 by Robert Bethune, Bishop of Hereford. The west tower is only slightly later.
