Situation

Woolstaston is about 5km North of Church Stretton in rolling ground on the West side of the valley. It sits on a raised bank of land facing north (towards Smethcote 1km) and east.

Church
Castle
A motte and bailey castle stands in the village. It is a circular motte, with a kidney shaped bailey on the NE side. The bailey (55m N-S, 28m E-W) is spearated from the motte (28m base diameter, 12m top diameter) by a shallow, semi circular ditch.
