The Russian words I've been using have been created by taking English words and running them through this site:

http://babelfish.altavista.digital.com/babelfish/tr

And then taking the resulting Cyrillic text, and running it through this site:

http://www.mblogic.net/tools/translit/cyrillic/

(I've been using the GOST translation standard, since it's the default, and I'm buggered if I know what it means.)

So, that might help.
