I haven't added the immigration waves, but I have fixed up the dates for the earlier stuff. Does that new timeline work for everyone?

I like it - easier to work with and digest small pages, as opposed to big ones. Mightn't be practical for all planets, but NU is big, something of a prototype, and already has a pretty extensive page, even before we've added demographics, economy, etc. I'll have another shot at stripping back that Zion & Kolikoff paragraph to the essentials and moving the fuller explanation to either the Gorky Nov or Zion pages. Speaking of which, I'll have to integrate those two, somehow, I expect, and the Two Weeks War page. I'll see how regular wiki deals with similar real-life situations and have a go over the next couple of days.

A "Geography" section may help.

Country Infobox

Tom, this is superb. Keep it up! --Boots.

On the Cities thing... I made each city a sub-sub heading so you can link direct to it, so they won't need their own pages. Zion is different, it was a whole different colony after all.

I think you should lose the general cities paragraph at the top (since the contents link to the section is about 100 pixels firther south). It's your call though. Admin 11:26, 27 June 2006 (EDT)

Well, the reason it's there is that I pulled up the wiki entry for Australia, and more or less copied the format and phrasing, substituting details as I went. In fact, though, the entry is nowhere near the 45kb size of Australia's wiki entry, so I could probably lose the links. Will consider it more at lunch. Incidentally, I've hived off Zion, but having written all the Zion text, I'm having trouble figuring out what to cut from the New Ukraine article - every time I make a cut, I'm unsure if it still makes sense. If a skilled editor could shave that part down to the bare bones, I'd be grateful.

EDITING REQUIRED:

Dates: Terraforming needs to commence in 2153/5, and won't be complete until 2170 when the planet can support minimal life/agriculture.

Three massive state sponsored immigrations of 200,000 each (often at gunpoint to make up numbers) in ~2230, ~2240 and ~2250. Total 2367 population of 3.6 million

Page breakup
