Mark Poster's

Mark Poster, born in 1941, received his Ph.D. from New York University in 1968. He is a history professor at the University of California, Irvine. Although he teaches European history, his main interest is Media Culture. He is considered to be a theorist of postmodern media. On that note, Poster has written a variety of books, articles and reviews discussing the internet and other recent medias. His recent books include What's the Matter with the Internet? (University of Minnesota Press, 2001), The Second Media Age (Blackwell, 1995), The Mode of Information (Chicago Press, 1990), and Information Please: Culture and Politics in a Digital Age (Duke University Press, 2006). Poster is also a member of the Department of Film and Media Studies. [1]
