Head towards the river

You take a sitting position, and lift your nose, trying to pick up the scent of the river. The air felt cooler northward, and you decide to go that way. Keeping your eyes shut, you follow the scent. The air becomes colder, and soon the ground becomes more barren and heather filled. You open your eyes, and find that the river is nearby... but it sounds loud. Not stopping to notice where you are, you run forward, and see... the gorge! You've always wondered about this place, and heard the elders boast that they jumped all the way across when they were apprentices...
