From Wikislippy

The Guitar Hero Effect (also known as Guitar Hero Syndrome) is when a person plays too much Guitar Hero.

[edit] Explanation

Slow Ride was originally released in 1975 by Foghat. This was Foghat's top single, peaking at number 20 on the music charts. Since then it was put into movies and video games such as, Grand Theft Auto, Barnyard, My Name Is Earl, Seinfeld, Dazed and Confused, Family Guy, and Dexter.

When Slow Ride is released in Guitar Hero III, it was unveiled to a whole new audience. Now it is everyone's favorite song. They act like it was released just yesterday, however, it was released 30 some years ago. Then when they see the song in a video game, movies, or television, they automatically know what song it is and automatically think of Guitar Hero. They think the producers found the song in Guitar Hero and decided to put in in their show.
