Cordelia was born in Los Angeles on September 29, 1977 to her parents Denver and Elaine just a few minutes after her twin sister Michelle and was brought home to an older brother by four years. Over the years, Michelle got the brains, and Cordelia got the body. Active at a young age, Cordelia joined as many sports teams as time allowed, her favorite being soccer. She was never too fond of studying and the only way she would ever pass her classes was if her parents threatened to take her sports away from her. So with the help of her sister, she managed to keep her grades high enough to not fail. In middle school she went through a growth, in her chest. At first she was embarrassed because she was one of the first girls that had to wear a bra, but after a while she learned to be proud of what she was given, and with this sparked a new confidence in her. As she entered high school, and her mother expecting a fourth child, she decided it was time to become serious with school. Dropping all of her sports but soccer, she began to take a new interest in Egyptology. It was during her junior year of high school that she discovered she had the ability to create creatures of sand. She was at the beach with several of her friends and was building sand castles. All of her friends had gone off to get some drinks and she stayed behind. She poured some water onto the pile of sand and it came together and formed a humanoid shape. At first she freaked out, but realized the creature was reacting to her fear and was also shaking, when she calmed down the creature stopped shaking and looked at her. When she finally realized the creature meant no harm and was amused by it, the little creature began dancing. She was never sure what to do about this power, but decided that she would keep it to herself for the time being. As senior year began to come to a close, Cordelia found herself going to a college that she had no interest in. The only reason for going was for the study abroad program. When she started college, she went to her classes for the general education requirements and worked on her off time to raise money. Finally the year came that she was going to become an exchange student at Cairo University to study everything she could about Egypt. When she arrived in Cairo, it didn't' take her long to realize this is where she felt like she belonged and wanted to stay. She decided not to return to the States when her term was over and found herself a small apartment, a job at a coffee house and continued to take classes at the university. That was until 1999 when the university was destroyed. When everything started, her parents called and desperately tried to convince her to come home. She told her family there was something that compelled her to stay in Cairo, the city she had grown to love so dearly. She said to them that she would be alright and had no intention of leaving, and she still stands by her decision. With the university gone, she now works full time at the coffee house, however it manages to stay open is beyond her. Now 22, almost 23, she has no intention of leaving no matter how much her family begs her to. She wants to help Cairo in what ever way she can no matter what.

Overall Cordelia is pretty easy going. She seems laid back and relatively pleasant about things, seemingly at ease with not much stress. She at times can be forgetful and can be distracted by something very easily. She is watchful over her friends, being there as a shoulder for them to cry on even if she doesn't give the best advice. There are some things she doesn't tolerate. She hates rude people, although she seems to like everyone, if someone interrupts her for no reason she will become snappy. She has a tendency to hold grudges over some people if they have angered her enough times, but in the end she would rather have someone as a friend then an enemy.

With a bit of sand and water she can create sand creatures. Either using the sand around her or after pouring some onto the ground from the bag she carries she can add water and the sand will come together to form a human shaped being. The creature can be controlled by Cordelia's emotions if she is calm, then the creature will do nothing. If she becomes angry, the creature will attack, if scared it will become a defense for her and so on. The amount of sand in her area will determine the size of the creature as well as its regenerating ability. If an arm or something is cut off, the creature will use the surrounding sand to recreate the arm, if no sand is available then it will use its own body sand to create the arm, leaving the creature smaller then what it was. The sand creature can either be destroyed by over regeneration with nothing to support it, or too much water to it in which it will just turn into a pile of muddied sand.
