Felnas Barriers are defensive force fields channeling the powers of Kanohi Felnas.

Overview

The Felnas Barrier was one of the first inventions of Toa Pelkaho, who was at the time experimenting with using Kanohi powers for alternate purposes. Attaching a Kanohi Felnas to a machine intended to channel Kanohi power resulted in the generation of a field which canceled his elemental and mask powers. Over the following years he refined the technology before presenting it to the Turaga High Council, who approved the order to mass-produce the device and employed it in important strongholds. The technology remains strictly under the control of the Council, and no version has ever been widely available.

A Felnas Barrier comes in the form of a metal box with a Kanohi Felnas attached. The device draws upon the energies of the Kanohi and projects the energy outward, forming a field of energy which can pass through solid objects. The size of the field can be altered as necessary by means of a control panel. Inside the Barrier's field, powers borne by creatures are canceled out; this includes but is not limited to Kanohi powers, elemental powers, Toa energy (except for Toa Stones), powers contained within weapons. Additionally, as soon as a power activated outside the field enters it, the power ceases to operate.
