Biography

Born in Gary, Indiana but educated at the University of Cambridge UK, he returned to the U.S.A with a new perspective on American Politics. His landslide election, beating an older, black and more experienced moderate, in Indiana's first was a surprise result for many. Critics cite the result as an example of protest voting against the Republicans but supporters praised his common sense attitude towards the issues of the day. He is a social moderate and successfully appealled to the centre of the electorate while keeping a tight hold on the base.
