- A ballet in six scenes by Gavin Gordon after William Hogarth. Costumes by Rex Whistler. Decor by Malcolm Baker-Smith. Music by Gavin Gordon. Choreography by Ninette de Valois. Scene 1—The Reception. Scene 2— The Orgy. Scene 3—Interlude. Scene 4—The Gambling Den. Scene 5—Near the Prison Gates. Scene 6 —The Mad House. with Robert Helpmann as the Rake, Harold Turner as the Dancing Master and the Gentleman with a rope, Mary Honer as the Girl. The augmented BBC Television Orchestra, leader, Boris Pecker, conductor, Hyam Greenbaum. Television presentation by Royston Morley. This programme wtll be repeated on Wednesday, April 12. This ballet is built round Hogarth's eight pictures, which are kept at the Soane Museum in Lincoln's Inn Fields, London. It is now an established favourite in the Sadler's Wells repertoire. This, however, will be the first performance in the television studio, and, incidentally, the first ballet production by Royston Morley, who usually handles drama
