From Tribewanted

Tuesday 16th May Royal couple plan Adventure Island honeymoon

No Wills & Kate haven’t joined the tribe (yet) but this week we were honoured when John Lawler and fiance, Elaine Cupples became tribe members 386 and 387. Not just any old pair of ‘Hunters’, John and Elaine are our first Royal tribe members and are planning to come to Adventure Island for their honeymoon! In 1998 John was ‘enstooled’ (crowned) Chief Torgbui Mottey I by the residents of Shia, a village in eastern Ghana, in recognition of his work to help build a local secondary school. John is returning to Ghana this July with his bride, Elaine, who will be welcomed into the community at a special ceremony that will see her crowned Queen! Bengazi tracked the royal couple down in Newcastle to find out why they’ve chosen to join tribewanted for their honeymoon:

“After all the fun and ceremonies in Ghana we thought it would be a good idea to try and keep the tribal experience going. We’re joining tribewanted so we can have a honeymoon as well as a wedding to remember. Its going to be amazing to experience the different ways in which Ghanaians and Fijians celebrate marriage! We can’t wait to go mad with with tribe!”

Royal blush: John and Elaine head to Adventure Island, via Ghana!

Ozblog Chief Marika & Mad Melv of Shipwrecked fame (remember the speedos – oh yes!) are on the road in Oz building the tribe. Here’s their latest installment from the land down under:

“So, after hitting Sydney with all things tribewanted we campervaned it north to Byron Bay. What an incredible place - beautiful beach, sea and cool people.

We flyered and we flyered to get the message out there and interest is certainly growing. It was great to chat to one guy from Ireland who had already read about tribewanted, he loved the idea and the concept and then he meets the tribe face to face!

After tribalising Byron Bay today we are now heading off to Brisbane to meet the backpackers, the locals and to spread the word. If you have any contacts in Brisbane please do let us know, we would love to meet up with them.”
