From Tribewanted

An important message from Tribewanted founders Ben and Mark

Twelve months ago the idea that became Tribewanted barely existed. Twelve months ago we were not aware that Vorovoro existed. Twelve months ago we could never have predicted the year we were both about to have, it is a year we will never forget.

With over 1000 tribe members and a beautiful home in the South Pacific and with a basic infrastructure already in place, 2007 is set to be an exciting year for all involved with Tribewanted.

As the start of 2006 brought us change, so does the start of 2007. The big news for the tribe is that Mark will be leaving his position as Director of Tribewanted. This has not been an easy decision to make, as we weigh up what is best for the project.

Mark dreamt up the idea we are all now experiencing. Ben and Mark took on the challenge to make it happen and the rest of you made it happen.

As the focus of Tribewanted has shifted to Vorovoro over the last few months it has become obvious that only one person needs to drive this project forward. Ben has been based on Vorovoro for the last 6 months and is best placed for this role. Mark is unable to permanently move to Vorovoro, due to his own commitments.

Since the launch of Tribewanted Mark has also received considerable interest in his other ideas, and would like the opportunity to take these forward. The good news is that Mark is not leaving the tribe; he will continue to be an active member online, help raise awareness and funds for the Dream Foundation, and aims to be back on Vorovoro in 2007.

Tribewanted in 2007

This change does not mean that your membership or the project itself is going to change in 2007. It does not mean that the aims of the project will change. As we move to get more of the online operations of the project based in Fiji in 2007 this will improve communications between those online and those on the island.

We start the year with a strong and energetic team in Fiji including Ben, Sara-Jane (Mark's sister), Raijelli, Kimbo, Ulai, Dan, Raina and, of course, all our extended family who work with us on Vorovoro.

On behalf of all tribe members Ben would like to say a big vinaka vakelevu to Mark for having the balls to tell him about his idea in the first place and for all his hard work and fantastic commitment over the last year. We remain good friends and in 2006 we started what has become a great adventure for many.

First online tribal meeting of the year > Sunday 7th Jan 8pm GMT in the chatroom.

Bula to 2007!
