Swinging axe is a trap appearing in the game Tomb Raider 1. Lara first encountered this trap in the City of Vilcabamba when she was walking into the heart of the city. The swinging axe is a trap to stay clear away from, as they take a significant amount of health away. Staying in their path for more than a second is lethal. On the level The Great Pyramid these traps are also combined with steep slopes, making it difficult to time a jump past them.
