Cardinality

A mystical energy that can be passed from one Catholic to another. This energy collects in churches and those who gather there. In large quantities it causes excessive piety and those who are filled with high concentrations of cardinality often jab their arms and fingers outward into the air, whilst chanting in Latin. This condition is known as 'the cardinal points'.
One of the largest cases of cardinality in recorded history occurred in 1908, in St. Louis. During the three-week criticality, sufferers became local celebrities as they waved and preached their way down Lindell Boulevard. In memory of this extraordinary event, a charity home for retired baseball players was founded in that city and named after the famous "St. Louis Cardinals". It survives to this day.
