  The B-17 Flying Fortress was one of the most popular bombers during World War Two. It was was used by the American Airforce. The German fighters noticed a weak spot, the B-17 was vunerable to attacks from below. The German pilots then took advantage of this. B-17 were also  slow compared to fighters.
