OPEN WEEKEND

To kick off the summer season, we hope to see you at our Open Weekend which will take place at the club on Saturday 10th May and from 4pm on Sunday 11th. Come along with your family—this will be an informal event and give everyone the chance to play tennis, meet new members and catch up with some familiar faces

SATURDAY MORNINGS

Saturday morning tennis will be run by Jonathan Yates or Ollie Lloyd between 10 and 12 noon. This is an excellent time to have some fun and play tennis with and against your mates. At these morning sessions, please bring your own drinks/snacks and note that the £1 will no longer be charged on these mornings

COACHING

Sunny is introducing a series of coaching sessions for juniors from four-year-olds right up to experienced players on Wednesdays and Saturdays. For further information about these, please call him on: 07949 169 882.

ROAD TO WIMBLEDON

Once again, we are holding a tournament to enter a Thames Ditton finalist in both the boys and girls entry for Road to Wimbledon.

We hope to hold our tournament in May when the grass courts will be available so keep your eyes open for the date(s). We will be taking names of any under 14s who would like to enter this during the weeks before, plus look out for the poster on the notice board.

SUMMER COMPETITIONS

The knock-out junior tournaments will this year be organised into three age groups for boys—12-and-under, 15-and-under, and 18-and-under—and two age groups for girls—12-and-under, 15-and-under. It would be good to run a doubles competition and this is included on the application form in the packs.

Again, we will be taking names as we see you on Saturday mornings or please complete the application form in the Member packs. 19 July is Finals day for all competitions so make sure you stay to support the finalists

We hope to run The HJC Tournament again so keep a look out for details which will be on the website as soon as the final arrangements have been confirmed. Entrance forms for this will be available in June.

FAMILY FUN DAY

We will be holding a Family Fun Day at the club. Details will be published on the website shortly. Here, juniors will partner up with parents or other adults and play a series of mini-sets throughout the afternoon, ending with an early evening BBQ.

There will be notices giving more information for all the above events on the junior notice board.

JUNIOR PLAY ON COURTS

Just to remind you about times on the tennis courts for juniors: Weekdays until 6pm, Saturdays 9am – 3pm, Friday evenings on the hard courts once grass is in use, plus juniors may play on Sunday mornings if no adult team matches have been booked.
