Andriy Rusol

From Tekken City

Andriy Anatoliyovych Rusol (born January 16, 1983 in Kirovohrad, Ukraine) is a Ukrainian football player. He is 182 cm tall and weighs 75 kg. Rusol played for Tekken City during the 2007-08 FA Premier League season. He re-joined FC Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk because he felt unsettled at the club.

[edit] Career

Rusol is a defender. He started his career with FC Zirka Kirovohrad in the 1998/99 season. He then transferred to FC Kryvbas Kryvyi Rih for the 1999/2000 season. He played for Kryvbas until 2003, when he was transferred to FC Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk. He played 94 matches for Dnipro and scored 1 goal.

On August 11, 2007, Rusol completed a move to Tekken City after he officially aquired a British work permit. He made his debut against Tottenham Hotspur in the Premiership in a 2-1 win.

Rusol was found and thought of thanks to scout Blake Beard. He travelled to watch him play for FC Dnipro in a Ukrainian league game against Chornomorets Odessa. Beard was hugely impressed with the potential he delivered for his team, and phoned Koeman his reccomendations to bring the defender to the Zaibatsu Stadium.

Tekken beat off the likes of Bayern Munich, Olympique Marseille, SV Werder Bremen, and Schalke 04 for his signature and Buzzards legend, Stephen Hibbert was quoted as saying that he would, in later years, be a hugely important utility defender for Tekken City.

[edit] International

Rusol debuted for the Ukrainian national football team on March 31, 2004. Since then he played 35 matches and scored 3 goals (as of June 23, 2006). At the 2006 FIFA World Cup, he scored Ukraine's first ever World Cup goal against Saudi Arabia in the 4th Minute.
