The Hole in the Bat award is the annual award given to the player who receives the biggest drop in average from one year to the next. For example, if a batsman averages 30 one year, and then 5 in the next, they are likely to receive the award.

Past winners include John Beddard, Ian Sedgwick and Mike Keelan; while the most infamous winner is Justin Casinader, known best for winning the award twice in two seasons. This feat is incomparable and is unlikely to be repeated in St Pauls history.

The 2007/08 winner was Damien D'Souza, whose average dropped from an impressive 30.00 to 6.60. The 2006/07 winner was Jake Attwood, for managing an average of only 11.11 after putting together a year of 26.14 before it.
