Night's Whisper letters

From Stormravengaming

In the Stone Tooth, the adventurers found two letters in the possession of a mysterious black-cloaked figure they had fought and killed. These letters turned out to be important clues to the central plot of the campaign.

Letter One

Brother Sjeargith,

By the venom of Merrshaulk, I grow weary of waiting for your reports! Your task is a simple one. Find and capture three children, the brood of Tarok, for one of them is the Gatekeeper who will open the Pathway of Myrlem for us. Find any clues to the location of Gavengard and so bring our quest to its promised – its prophesied! – conclusion.

Remember, the greatest rewards, power and wealth, are promised to Merrshaulk's most faithful and useful servants. But those who raise his wrath, as a sword that breaks in the hand, shall be cast aside where only dust and ashes, pain and hunger, may be found.

Report to me quickly, and pray that I am not displeased, else I will send another to take your place, and you will know the fullest recompense for failing your brotherhood.

Elder Fang Darisv

Letter Two

Elder Fang Darisv,

I serve the will and purpose of Night's Whisper. This is the third report I have sent you since the Spring thaw, and if you have not received the others, they must have been lost to the dangerous mountain trails between us.

My search for Tarok's brood proceeds apace. The goblins you conscripted to the service of Night's Whisper are scouring the mountains surrounding his destroyed home, and I expect word of their capture before many weeks have passed. This job would be swifter if you could find more reliable servants to set to the task, for the goblins are lazy creatures, and too much of my time is taken with keeping them to their task.

I have taken up residence in the Stone Tooth, an ancient stronghold that I hope will contain clues to the location of Gavengard. The dark dwarves here are uncooperative at best, but a little gold to their leader has at least granted me
