4-6: Group B

From Step Institute

Educators extraordinaire Glenn, Todd, and Millie have been working on the concept of Erosion and the part it plays in global warming.

We incorporated the concept of global climate change in our lesson by first examining the base knowledge of the group on erosion and global warming. Image:4-6B1.jpg K W L

By exploring erosion, we examined the washing away of surface insulators, such as moss, leading to permafrost melting.

As permafrost thaws, once frozen methane is released to the atmosphere increasing the rate of change in global warming two fold.

Melting permafrost can also lead to the formation of thermokarst, more erosion, and even more methane gas released to the atmosphere.
