Snowbound

Snowbound is one of the alternate versions of Micras that the Control of Destiny Team visits in Control of Destiny 2. Like all alternate dimensions in that game, Snowbound was created as a result of the effects of the first Control of Destiny Campaign and represents a "what if" scenario.
In Snowbound, the ice age was not magically ended due to a successful Jasonian assassination of the Audente team that was developing Ultima, lead by LordStone. Because of this, Audentior was unable to overcome Jasonia in easily and the two fought a large-scale magical war for decades until both countries were nearly destroyed in the fighting. The Aquatan Empire that had perished in our dimension was thriving in the ice age and, having stayed out of the war, became quite strong. It took advantage of the weakness of Jasonia and Audentior to invade and conquer both countries.
Shortly after the end of the war, contact between Jasonia and the mainland was distrupted as the ice age worsened and shipping lanes froze and became impassable. Badly damaged from the war and running low on supplies, society and learning in conquered Jasonia regressed almost back to primitive times. Organized religion turned into myth and further into vague superstition.
With a magical cure for the ice age out of the question in the destroyed world, the few Aquatans that held onto science and learning developed a desperate plan to end the ice age and save their people. They located a derelict space station (in actuality, it was of Micron origin and constructed a rocket base on what we know as Armoria Island to reach it. They planned to combine the recently uncovered Ruby Sphere, a powerful source of fire magic that had been enshrined in Ougaram but was taken forcifully by Aquatans, with an old war weapon developed by Jasonia known as the Fire Cannon. They would fire this device from the space station at the planet Micras itself, hoping that the increased heat from space would slowly reheat the planet.
In actuality, this plan would have been devastating for Micras, setting large tracts of the planet on fire even in the midst of the ice age. However, luckily for all the inhabitants of Snowbound, the very first interdimensional portal was created by an experiment in Aquata Castle. The portal sent the entire capital along with miles of the surrounding fertile land into the alternate dimension of Sunscorch. A large mountain range bust up overnight, dividing Nelaga in two. This event happened sixty years before the beginning of Control of Destiny 2.
When the inhabitants of Snowbound learned that the Aquatan capital had vanished, they revolted en mass. The city of Rajak in particular had been heavilty under Aquatan opression and sentenced many Aquatan civilians to death. Many Aquatans fled into the mountans to escape the slaughter and search for survivors from the capital but found nothing but icy death there. Several groups became bandits and outlaws that prayed upon people tryign to cross the range, including the Fallen Empire Rogues.
People from Alassaht found the Ruby Sphere and returned it to the Infero Magi of Ougaram, forming an alliance between the two cities. Ougaram set up large runes around their city to focus power into the Ruby Sphere. Slowly the seas thawed and several ships began to sail between the two cities, though the routes both on land and sea to Rajak remained impassable. Many people believed that eventually the Ruby Sphere would thaw the entire world, totally oblivious that the growing power of the Sphere was actually one of the largest threats the multiverse had ever encountered.
